Don’t Rush It

Please, don’t rush it.

Don’t rush it. Don’t rush a second of it. Don’t rush your childhood away wishing you were older. Don’t rush your college years away because you want to make money. Don’t rush your 20’s away trying to get married and buy a house and do all the things you have your whole life to do. Don’t rush it.

Because one day you will look back at those years and wish you were still in them and then you will remember that on those days when being young was so blissful and carefree, you were thinking about growing up and driving and dating and moving out and moving up in the world…you forgot to be young. Be young. Travel. Ask stupid questions. Stay out too late some nights.Β  Make mistakes. Laugh at yourself. Fall in love again and again. Make friends. Lose friends. Fight with people. Make up. Live for today to make tomorrow brighter. Don’t just live for tomorrow. Take your time.

The world is still going to be there tomorrow for you to explore and if it isn’t then live your best life now. You’re going to wake up one day and be 80 years old wondering where your youth went and when the world changed because you spent your whole life working towards something that doesn’t exist and rushing.

Now is the time to have crazy plans and try everything you can. No matter how old your soul is, the world still has new and exciting things to explore. Take your time exploring them. This post is not just for the people who are still “young” but the people who are still young! You can be 50 and young and exploring. You don’t have to grow up when you grow old.Β  You are not racing a clock. You can’t outrun time so why are you trying?! It isn’t too late to slow down and appreciate what the world has to offer.

You have one single life to live. Make every second of it count. Quit looking at yesterday and quit chasing tomorrow. Live today and live it well. Smile at strangers. Quit running to get to places you’re in no rush to be.Β  Life isn’t a race, it is a marathon. Don’t run yourself down too early because you have so much to look forward to. The finish line will be there at the end no matter where the end is.

It isn’t too late to stop rushing…please stop rushing.
